Bethlehem Steel, published in 1999 by Princeton Architectural Press, is now in it's third printing.
Photographs by Andrew Garn feature many of the plant's
important structures including; blast furnaces, power houses and machine shops.
The book also contains historic photographs that show the dramatic rise of this industrial behemoth from small steel mill in the early 1800s to the most diversified steel mill the world had ever seen. Bethlehem Steel fabricated the steel for great battleships, the Chrysler Building and George Washington Bridge.
The text by the historian Lance Metz details the entire plant history as it began on the shores of the Alleghany River in Eastern Pennsylvania.
